In the first of what I am sure will become a regular event, the Orange Dog Automotive Printing Karting Cup goes to Russell in the production dept. proving that he’s not just quick on the guillotine!

Three hotly contest preliminary rounds set the grid position for the final with yours truly on the pole position. I heard a saying recently that you can’t win a race on the first corner but you can lose one! And so it proved to be, charging hard into the first corner to make up for my um… weight handicap ended up being just a fraction too hot, resulting in a rapid de-acceleration against the concrete bridge edging, allowing everyone through before I was finally extracted from the mess… in last place.

Russell took advantage and jumped into the lead where he remained until the finish. A great race and importantly, everyone (even mix of guys and gals) had a great time with no visible injuries… pride excluded!

As corporate events go, this was one of the best. We will be back before too long once we’ve worked through the masses of lube labels and service stickers you are all ordering!
